ASRT conducted a workshop on behalf of MoH for the review committee on Breast Health Guidelines. The Breast Health Guidelines are one of the key outputs from the Breast Cancer AKAZI 2 project implemented by the ASRT in collaboration RCSI as a follow-on to the AKAZI 1 while the key output from AKAZI 1 project was the Clinical Breast Examination (CBE) manual.
The Review Committee provided technical and strategic input into the development of the National Breast Health Guidelines, ensuring they are evidence-based, contextually appropriate, and aligned with the Health Sector Strategic Plan III (HSSP III) and national NCD frameworks.
Specific objectives of the Review Committee were to:
- Review and provide feedback to the consultants on the draft National Breast Health Guidelines.
- Ensure the document reflects current evidence, best practices, and national health priorities.
- Provide expert guidance on the structure, content, and implementation feasibility of the guidelines.
Recommend revisions and additions to strengthen alignment with existing national policies and global standards.
