Through the AKAZI 2 project and in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Ministry of Health, ASRT Limited recently conducted a Clinical Breast Cancer Examination (CBE) training at Lighthouse and Malaria Alert Centre in Blantyre.
The training aimed to enhance Health Workers’ knowledge on breast cancer awareness and early detection, equip them with practical skills to conduct CBEs, promote early diagnosis and timely referral of suspected breast cancer cases, and strengthen community-level capacity for breast cancer screening and health education.
A total of 30 Health Workers attended the training, including nurses, clinical officers, Health Surveillance Assistants (HSAs), community health volunteers,
This training will enable identification of women with potential breast cancer at the earliest possible stage, reducing the time taken for diagnosis and ensuring they are placed on the care pathway without delay.
